Cablebus Transit Sytem . Iztapalapa . Mexico City
The Cablebus transit system was designed and built with the aim of improving transportation options in a heavily congested and densely populated area of Mexico City, where traditional public transportation systems have struggled to provide efficient and reliable service. There are currently two lines: One serving the far northern areas, and one in the southeast.
To reach Cablebus Line 2 I rode Metro Line 8 from the center to Southeast Mexico City, to station Constitución de 1917. This connects to the gondola in the same station, and traverses 10.5 kilometers / 7.5 miles through the neighborhoods and hills of Iztapalapa, with seven stations.
